* INHABITANTS : millions (1991).
* POPULATION GROWTH RATE : the annual
percentage change in a country's population
for one year (1985-1990).
* BIRTH RATE : number of births for 1000
inhabitants for 1990.
* DEATH RATE : number of deaths for 1000
inhabitants for 1990.
* INFANT MORTALITY RATE : number of died
children before one year-old for 1000 births
for a year (1991).
* LIFE EXPECTANCY : number of years a newborn
baby would live if patterns of mortality
prevailing for all people at the time of its
birth were to stay the same all his life
(1991).
* URBAN POPULATION : the people living in a
city as a percentage of all inhabitants
(1991).
* DENSITY : number of inhabitants for one
Km² (1991).
* ILLITERACY RATE : percentage of the
population age 15 or older who cannot read
and write (1991).
* PRIMARY WORKING POPULATION : the working
population gathers people having a job and
adult unemployed people who are searching a
job. The primary sector gathers agriculture,
forest activities and fishing. Primary working
population is the people working in the
primary sector as a percentage of working
population (1991).
* SECUNDARY WORKING POPULATION : this sector
gathers industry, mines, building and energy.
People working in this sector as a percentage
of working population (1991).
* TERTIARY WORKING POPULATION : this sector
gathers other activities : commerce and
office's activities (bank, cinema, government's
office etc...). People working in this sector
as a percentage of working population (1991).
* SHARE OF A SECTOR IN GDP : the value added
in a country's sector (primary, secundary,
tertiary) as a percentage of Gross Domestic
Product. The Gross Domestic Product considers
the wealth created in a country during a year.
(1990).
* G.N.P. PER CAPITA : the Gross National Product
considers the wealth created by contry's companies
during a year, expressed in U.S. dollar, divided
by the number of inhabitants (1991).
* GNP GROWTH RATE : average annual percentage
change in a country's real GNP per capita
(1980-90).
* INFLATION RATE : annual percentage change
on prices 1990-1991. This rate changes very
often from a year to another.
* RELIGION : only the most important religion
of the country. All christian and mussulman
religions are grouped.
* DAILY CALORIE SUPPLY PER CAPITA : the calorie
content of the food produced and imported for
domestic consumption divided by the country's
population and expressed as a daily amount
(1990).
